The Château-Musée is open to the public from 10th February to 31th March: from Tuesday to Sunday and bank holiday Mondays, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 5.30 p.m.

From 1st April to 30th June : from Tuesday to Sunday and bank holiday Mondays, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

From 1st July to 31th August: every day from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Opening on the 14th July and 15th August.

From 1st September to 30th september: from Tuesday to Sunday and bank holiday Mondays, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

From 1st October to 31th December 31: from Tuesday to Sunday and bank holiday Mondays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. Closed on 25th December and 1st January.

Staircase access only to the château's courtyard and upper floors.

Please note that the rooms in the north wing of the château will not be open to the public during the week of 23 to 29 September due to the dismantling of the exhibition Buvons ! La faïence raconte le vin. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

In order to ensure the good circulation of visitors and to preserve the collections, pushchairs, baby carrier or large bags are not authorized in the castle. Lockers are available at reception.

Château de Saumur's grounds are free to visit and get you up close to the landmark. Visitors can explore its external fortifications, courtyard and views.

Pets are not allowed in the ticketed area of the château.

  • Au guichet d’accueil de la Mairie de Saumur.
  • Par courrier, en indiquant vos nom, prénom, adresse postale et adresse courriel, accompagné d’un chèque bancaire ou postal d’un montant de 11€ à l’ordre de la régie de recettes du château (vous recevrez votre carte dans un délai de deux semaines environ), à l’adresse suivante :
